Simon’s practice focuses on advising sponsors, project companies and lenders on the construction and operation and maintenance aspects of limited recourse financed transactions.
He prepares and negotiates construction contracts, and related documentation for sponsors and wind turbine suppliers for projects in the renewables, energy (battery) storage, and the infrastructure sectors. Simon also carries out due diligence reviews of project documents in these sectors for lenders and investors.

Acting for the turbine supplier on a number of Middle East wind turbine projects.
Acting for the sponsors on the EPC Contract and O&M Contract for a PV solar plant in Burundi.
Acting for the lenders on the due diligence review of the EPC Contract and O&M Contract for a PV solar plant in Tunisia.
Acting for EIB on the EPC Contract and O&M Contract on the Ashalim B thermal solar power plant and associated high voltage transmission lines, Negev Desert, Israel.
Acting for the lenders on the EC Contract and O&M Contract for the Roggeveld wind farm project in South Africa.
Acting for the sponsors in connection with the EPC Contract and O&M Contract issues on the Cookhouse wind farm project in South Africa.
Acting for the project sponsors on the EPC Contract based on the FIDIC Silver Book for a 428km transmission line connecting a wind power project to the grid system at Lake Tukana, Kenya.
Acting for sponsors on the Monts du Lomont wind farm project.
Energy (battery) Storage:
Acting for the Tesla Energy BV on a number of fully wrapped turn-key solutions for battery energy storage projects in Europe, USA and South Africa and associated documents including associated LTSA and Services Agreements and Market Participation Agreements for the sale of electricity.
Hydroelectric and biomass power:
Acting for the project sponsors on the EPC Contract, the O&M Contract and the LTSA for a 299MW biomass power plant at Teesside, UK.
Acting for the project sponsors on the EPC Contract for the Nenskra hydropower project, Georgia.
Acting for the project sponsors on the EPC Contract for a series of hydro-power generation plants in Turkey.
