The District Heating and Cooling sector is highly topical in the UK, with an increased understanding that it must play a greater part in the drive towards decarbonisation. In 2018, BEIS announced that it is looking to invest £320m in order to enable a positive investment climate for the private sector (the “Heat Networks Investment Project” - HNIP). We are advising BEIS on HNIP as part of the Delivery Partner consortium, but our involvement in this practice area also encompasses funding, development and regulatory advice for local authorities, NHS trusts, private energy services companies, and contractors. And as governments and clients worldwide continue to explore the benefits of District Heating and Cooling, our journey is taking us into emerging markets.
