Louisa specialises in commercialising low carbon technologies and delivering scaling-up business support and green financing to sustainable clean tech and ocean tech businesses. She has over two decades’ experience across a wide range of innovative sustainable infrastructure projects globally, many of which were breakthrough deals of the day.
She has been recognised as a leading lawyer in the renewables sector by Legal 500 since 2015 and by Chambers and Partners since 2017.
Louisa is a valued strategic thinker as evident in various board and committee appointments including sitting on the Investment Committee for the Green Heat Network Fund and the Investment Committee (Renewables) for Social and Sustainable Capital. She is also a Non-Executive Director on the board of Shoreham Port.
Louisa is also Co-founder and Principal of pH3 Capital Ventures, a UK based impact investing firm focussed on accelerating Net Zero solutions in the maritime and blue bioeconomy sectors. She was an Award Finalist at the British Angel Association Awards 2022 for best women-led investment in innovation relating to blue biotech startup Oceanium.

InoBat: Ongoing advice supporting their £3bn+ investment programme for EV battery cells and packs R&D and production, including strategic partnering arrangements, equipment procurement and financing for delivery of multi-jurisdictional giga factories.
Severn Wye Energy Agency and Pure Leaprfog: Ongoing advice supporting delivery of the Mersey Biochar project, an innovative project that will develop a community-owned, carbon-negative energy and heating solution.
CUR8: Advising on the structuring of their carbon removals platform including development of supply side and purchaser contracts across a range of emerging carbon removal technologies.
Meld Energy: Advising on the investment made into the company by global energy management company World Fuel Services to accelerate Meld’s plans for green hydrogen production and supply in the UK and around the world.
RheEnergise: Advising on the Seed-to-A fundraising (including crowdfunding tranche) for their innovative High Density Hydro storage system .
Demand Logic: Advising on the Seed-to-A fundraising for their software tool that provides actionable intelligence to property managers and building contractors.
Power Transition Ltd: Advising on the Seed fundraising for their DLT-based Digital Energy Platform allowing peer-to-peer and peer-to-grid energy trading.
Verna Earth: Advising on their Seed fundraising for their data science platform for sustainable land use.
Innovation Gateway: Advising on the structuring of their EVzero and HGVzero corporate accelerator programmes.
Social and Sustainable Capital: Advising on their mezzanine financing (alongside Investec Bank as senior funder) to Gridserve to build out a solar farm in North Lincolnshire as part of Gridserve’s sun-to-wheel strategy.
Cuckmere Solar: Advising on their joint venture with Riding Sunbeams and Thrive Renewables to develop the UK’s first utility scale project connecting a solar farm to the electric rail network system.
Nexta Capital: Advising on the structuring of their €500m renewables fund focussed on wind, solar and biomass projects across Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece.

Prior to co-founding Lux Nova, Louisa was a Partner at Temple Bright LLP, Nabarro LLP (now CMS) and DLA Piper, and previously worked at Ashurts, White & Case and Masons.
