Lux Nova is delighted to welcome Henry Vane as Consultant. He will work principally alongside David Short in the firm’s natural capital practice and his arrival is a sign of the firm’s position as a market leader in this new and exciting legal area.
Henry is a property lawyer by background and joins from the commercial real estate team at Macfarlanes. Before that he worked in the rural property team at Forsters and trained at Hogan Lovells. He has a longstanding interest in the environmental aspects of land ownership and was one of the first lawyers to identify and explore the potential of conservation covenants (a new legal instrument introduced in 2021).
Henry says: “I couldn’t be happier to join Lux Nova and specialise in natural capital agreements. The firm acts for some of the most innovative environmental schemes around and its work has allowed clients to generate meaningful income from the sale of biodiversity units and other nature credits. I believe natural capital is key to the future of our countryside and I look forward to playing a small role in preserving it.”
